Themes & customization
Install a theme, customize it, and update it safely.
Your theme controls how your store looks. Cartisto gives you two paths: customize a curated theme, or own your code with a custom theme.
Curated (marketplace) themes
Install a theme from the marketplace and tailor it in the customizer:
- Settings — logo, colors, fonts, layout density.
- Sections — compose your homepage (and product, collection, cart pages) by adding, reordering, and configuring content blocks around the parts that must stay put (like the product buy-box).
- Custom CSS — small styling tweaks.
You can’t edit a curated theme’s template code — but you get safe, guided control, and the theme keeps receiving updates.
Custom themes
Want full control? Create a custom theme — your own copy of the platform starter that a developer can edit end-to-end (templates, CSS, JS). Edits are previewed as drafts and published when ready. See the Theme Developer portal for the build side.
Previewing changes safely
Every change — a setting, a section, or code — is a draft first. You preview it privately; your live storefront keeps showing the published version until you publish. Nothing you try is visible to shoppers until you say so.
Theme updates
When a theme releases an update, you’ll see “update available.” Applying it is your choice and it’s non-destructive: a preview shows exactly what changes (kept, added, and removed settings) before you apply. A theme can never rearrange your store without you applying the update.
Seasonal variants
You can keep several installs of the same theme — a “Ramadan” look and an everyday look — and switch between them.
Checkout always stays on-brand and secure Checkout uses your logo, colors, and fonts automatically, but it’s rendered by the platform — so it’s fast, consistent, and can’t be broken by a theme change.
