Payments & checkout

Connect a payment gateway, offer cash on delivery, and understand the built-in checkout.

Cartisto’s checkout is built in — you don’t build or host it. What you set up is how you get paid: which gateways accept cards, whether you offer cash on delivery, and how offline bank transfers are confirmed. Everything here lives under Settings → Payments.

Online payment gateways

Connect one or more gateways. Cartisto supports:

Gateway Notes
Stripe Cards, global.
PayPal PayPal balance + cards.
Paymob Cards & wallets (Egypt / MENA).
PayTabs Cards (MENA).
Tap Cards & local methods (GCC).
Moyasar Cards & mada (Saudi Arabia).
Kashier Cards & wallets (Egypt).

You add each gateway’s keys from its own dashboard into Settings → Payments. Keys are encrypted at rest — once saved, they’re never shown back in full.

Note

You’re charged in your store’s base currency A gateway charges in your store’s base (settlement) currency. If a shopper is browsing in another currency, the amount is converted for display, but the actual charge settles in your base currency. A gateway that can’t process your base currency is rejected at setup rather than silently converting — so you always know exactly what settles.

Cash on delivery (COD)

Turn on COD to let shoppers pay when the order arrives. You can add a COD fee per shipping zone (see Shipping & taxes). Cash collected by couriers is reconciled in COD settlements, where you record what each courier has paid back so your books stay straight.

Bank transfer

Offer manual bank transfer for shoppers who pay by wire. You publish your bank details; at checkout the shopper transfers and uploads a receipt; the order waits as pending payment until you verify the receipt and mark it paid. Nothing ships on an unverified transfer.

The checkout itself

You configure how you get paid — you never touch the checkout page. It’s platform-owned and locked: it renders from Cartisto’s own templates for every theme, so no theme or custom code runs on the payment surface. It still carries your logo, colors, and fonts automatically, so it stays on-brand while staying secure. See Themes & customization.

Tip

Test before you go live Put a gateway in its test/sandbox mode, place a real end-to-end order, confirm it lands in Orders and the payment shows captured, then switch the gateway to live keys.
